Restaurant Website: A Menu That Makes You Hungry
A PDF menu on mobile is painful. Build an interactive menu, booking system and connect Wolt/Bolt ordering.
Ever tried to read a restaurant menu while hungry, only to open a tiny 5MB PDF you have to pinch‑zoom on your phone? That’s one of the biggest sins in restaurant web design. Your website should be as tempting as your food.
PDF menu vs HTML menu
Why do restaurants love PDFs? Because it’s easy to upload a print file. But for customers it’s a disaster.
- Search engines (SEO): Google can’t read an image‑based PDF well. With an HTML menu, you can rank for “best pasta in Tallinn” or “vegan burger”.
- Mobile: HTML adapts to screens. Text stays readable without zooming.
- Images: A web menu can show mouth‑watering photos for each dish. We eat with our eyes.
Photography matters
A bad phone photo can kill appetite. Food photography is an investment. Photos should be:
Shot in natural light or with pro lighting
Colors should be vivid, not dull
Optimized files (WebP) so the site stays fast
Integrations and booking
In 2026 nobody wants to call to book a table (see the previous article). Your site needs an easy booking engine (DinnerBooking, TableOnline or custom).
Your website should also drive orders. If you offer delivery, Wolt and Bolt Food links must be prominent above the fold. Even better — integrate ordering directly on your site to avoid platform fees (which can be up to 30%).
Is your menu readable?
Throw that PDF in the trash. We’ll build a modern, mobile‑friendly and mouth‑watering restaurant site that fills your tables.
